Juhannuksen viettoa

Toivottavasti kaikilla on ollut mukava ja leppoisa juhannus 🙂 Itse vietin juhannuksen töitä tehden, hiljaisessa ja tyhjässä Helsingissä. Sain avustaa 27 -vuotiasta nuorta pyörätuolissa istuvaa naista, joka on myös hyvä kaverini. Perjantaina kävimme uimastadionilla ja lauantaina piipahdimme lintsillä.

Perjantain sade ei uidessa niin haitannut. Mutta lauantaina oli onneksi aurinkoinen sää kiertää laitteita. 🙂

Täytyy sanoa, että ihailen valtavasti kyseisen 27 -vuotiaan asennetta elämään. Hän on melkein aina iloinen ja myönteinen. Hänen silmistään näkyy ilo ja palo elämää kohtaan. Pyörätuoli ei todellakaan hidasta menoa, päinvastoin. Mielestäni hän on kokenut paljon enemmän kuin moni muu. Hän on mahdottoman kova menemään ja tekemään. Hän harrastaa uintia. Ja aloitti hiljattain kuntosalin. Hän matkustaa usein ulkomaille. Ja ties mitä kaikkea muuta.

Itselläni on paljon opittavaa hänen asenteestaan. Liian usein vaivun ikäviin ajatuksiin. Jään pahaan oloon vellomaan. Vaikka minulla on liikuntakyky tallella. Pääsen ovesta ulos juuri silloin kuin haluan. Yksin. En tiedä mitä tekisin, jos menettäisin kykyni kävellä ilman apua. En voisi jatkaa minulle niin rakasta liikuntaa enää niin kuin ennen. En pärjäisi yksin missään. Niin voi käydä milloin vain.

Meidän täytyisi olla enemmän tyytyväisiä siihen mitä meillä jo on, eikä vain tavoitella aina vain jotain parempaa. Kaikki on ihan hyvin juuri näin. Olkaamme kiitollisia tästä yhdestä elämästä, jonka olemme saaneet. Se on syytä elää hyvin, elämästä nauttien.20160625_181714

    I have to express my profound admiration for my friend’s perspective towards life. She maintains a predominantly cheerful and optimistic disposition, with her eyes reflecting her zest and passion for life. Her wheelchair doesn’t inhibit her journey through life; rather, it seems to enrich it. I believe she has experienced and learned more than many individuals. She possesses an unstoppable determination, with swimming as one of her favorite activities. She has recently taken up gym workouts and frequently embarks on foreign trips. She exemplifies how one can lead a full, meaningful life, regardless of circumstances.

    I find myself reflecting on my attitude towards life in light of her remarkable spirit. I realize how I often let myself be dominated by negative thoughts and moods. Although I enjoy the privilege of physical mobility and can venture out independently, I’m often ungrateful. I can’t fathom what my reaction would be if I were to lose my mobility. The activities I cherish, such as exercising, might no longer be feasible as they are now, and my independence would be compromised. This serves as a stark reminder that our circumstances could change without warning.

    I’m prompted to express more gratitude for what I presently have, rather than constantly seeking to upgrade my life. Life as it is right now is just fine. We should cherish this one life we’ve been granted, aiming to live it to the fullest and derive as much joy from it as possible.

    Today, I indulged in a mix of exercise and relaxation. Ready and refreshed for the upcoming week, I find myself taking lessons from my Midsummer reflections.
